Google ranking (all associatedpages) for relevant search terms
The "skeleton" of this web site was first published on or about March 7 2010. We expect rankings to improve steadily - as time progresses and work on the site continues. S.E.O. experts suggest anywhere from 3 - 9 months to start seeing positive results - so it would seem that we have made a fairly positive start.
At this time, we are not able to employ the inactive URLS listed above - to enhance our ranking. The reason for this is that our web site hosting service does not offer "301 redirect" services - without which, it would be risky (in terms of possibly being penalized by Google - and other search engines) to "point" these URLS to our main web site. We expect to find a way around this problem in the very near future.
We do not expect to generate any interest from actual potential customers - until we are in a position to post our own extensive, high quality, "attention grabbing" images and videos. Once we are in such a position, we also expect to be able to generate interest in the general media (both online and offline) - thereby improving our rankings even more - not to mention, directly improving our "occupancy levels" - and our bottom line.
Generating media interest (both online and offline) will be a very important aspect of promotion both directly and indirectly - by improving search engine ranking. We have an "Ace in the hole - which will hopefully help to facilitate this. The primary requisite to generate media interest is a gimmick - "You gotta have a gimmick". It could be - "The biggest ball of string in the world" or "The biggest frying pan in the world" - or whatever - it doesn't really matter.
Our "Ace in the hole" is that we expect "Grand Illusion" to be "The most fuel efficient boat in the world" (compared to boats of similar size and speed) - by a very large factor. This should be even better than "The biggest ball of string in the world" - because of all the current media interest in conserving fossil fuels, global warming, saving the planet - and most recently, the current effort to prevent oil from contaminating the entire gulf and east coast of the U.S. - and possibly the westernmost Bahamas.
We also have a "pair of Jacks" to go along with that Ace - in that, the same design and construction features, which make Grand Illusion remarkably fuel efficient, also provide two other benefits. These are - an extremely small wake and excellent performance in adverse sea conditions.
The former can be linked with "Protecting fragile eco systems" - such as the mangrove estuary which we will be traveling through on all our tours. The second may be "media worthy" simply because of the "Wow factor". It would seem that the entrance bar to the Pedregal estuary would likely provide (on many occasions) the perfect conditions for demonstrating the latter.
All of these "gimmicks" - added to a moderately successful tour operation should combine to turn Panama Adventure Tours into a very successful operation - in a very short time span. As the saying goes "Nothing succeeds like success" - as one who has had a lifetime of experience in the converse "Nothing fails like failure" can attest to. Both these sayings, most definitely, also hold true - in regard to search engine ranking.
One of the many attempts to raise the capital to build Grand Illusion was based on the above mentioned "gimmicks". Clearly, it was not successful. However, with Grand Illusion actually operating and clearly demonstrating the validity of these claims, it should not prove an impossible task to generate some media interest. Seeing as Yahoo and Bing, between them, are beginning to make some inroads into Google's market share (and they are due to merge soon) their results have been included. The highest number of results, among the 3 search engines, has been used in the last "of about" column. Our recent change of our primary URL has confused the issue for the search engines - therby slowing our rise in rankings. This has now, apparently, been largely sorted out and our rise in ranking should continue steadily.
A ranking, for any search term, of more than 10 is virtually worthless - nobody looks at the second page of the search results. Such rankings are only shown here as an indication of what might be expected - in the coming months and years - as this fledgeling web site matures and achieves a measurable "status" ("page rank") with Google and other search engines.
As in the social and business "real world" counterparts, in the world of search engine optimization, a small increase in "status" leads to increased "popularity" - which leads to higher "status" and increased "popularity" etc. etc. This condition, which is so prevalent in our current society, is perhaps best illustrated by that
wonderful definition of a "Celebrity" being "Someone who is famous for being famous." You just can't get away from "All powerful Branding" (unfortunately of both the positive and negative sorts) --- even in "cyberspace".
